ভারতে মহারাষ্ট্রের হিন্দুত্ববাদী দল শিবসেনা তাদের দলীয় মুখপত্র 'সামনা'-তে প্রকাশিত এক নিবন্ধে প্রস্তাব দিয়েছে, ভারতে মুসলিমদের স্বার্থেই তাদের ভোটাধিকার প্রত্যাহার করে নেওয়া উচিত।শিবসেনার মতে, এতে মুসলিমদের নিয়ে ভারতে ভোটব্যাঙ্কের রাজনীতি বন্ধ হবে।সামনা-তে এই বিতর্কিত নিবন্ধটি লিখেছেন শিবসেনার সিনিয়র নেতা, রাজ্যসভা এমপি ও দলের অন্যতম মুখপাত্র সঞ্জয় রাউত। আর নিজের বক্তব্য প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে গিয়ে তিনি শিবসেনার প্রয়াত সুপ্রিমো বাল ঠাকরের মন্তব্যকেও টেনে এনেছেন।তিনি আরও জানিয়েছেন, বালাসাহেব না কি আজ থেকে পনেরো বছর আগেই প্রস্তাব দিয়েছিলেন ভারতে মুসলিমদের ভোটাধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়া হোক।

For TOTAL DOMINATION over India, Hindu fundamentalists are promoting their DOGMATIC VEDIC beliefs and practices by all means. Hindu fundamentalists of BJP and RSS are determined to BAN the SLAUGHTER of COWS and BULLS in more and more states in India. 

   For VEDIC fundamentalists, the COW is more HOLY and DIVINE than any Hindu God or Goddess!! So the Holy Cow's URINE and DUNG are being promoted as AMRIT and PRASAD, which is being put in all types of consumer goods used by the masses. Massive amounts of MONEY can be earned by SELLING products containing such HOLY AMRIT and PRASAD at high prices to crores of Hindus. 

   Keeping DRY COWS, which do NOT give any MILK, can be made not just economical, but even PROFITABLE by making Hindus use COW's DUNG and URINE for medical and religious purposes. The use of COW's DUNG and URINE can be promoted among a BILLION Hindus who buy COSTLY Ayurvedic medicines, tooth powders, cosmetics and many other products, which contain the two DIVINE ingredients. Lot of dried DUNG is burnt in FUNERAL PYRES and other religious rites of Hindus. 

   Keeping even DRY COWS can thus become BIG BUSINESS leading to a MASSIVE GROWTH in the GDP of India! Prices of COW's DUNG and URINE can be RAISED a lot as their uses are increased.

   Hindu fundamentalists may start selling MASSIVE quantities of the COW's DUNG and URINE to the Government of India for CLEANING the GANGA and other rivers! By using the DUNG and URINE of the HOLY COW, and by reciting the correct MANTRAs from the DIVINE VEDAs, Hindu PRIESTS can certainly perform the MIRACLE of PURIFYING the GANGA and other rivers of India.

   Powdered DUNG is put in BEEDIS and cigarettes to make the TOBACCO in them BENEFICIAL for health, as claimed by BJP MPs!

   CATTLE DUNG is used very PROFITABLY for making AGARBATIS, mosquito repellant coils, tooth powders, cosmetics, etc. It is also MIXED with coriander powder and other spices!! Why should the Hindu fundamentalists promote CATTLE DUNG for use only as a CHEAP fertilizer?

The old order is dying, but refuses to go quietly

As the election approaches, the Tory press is becoming increasingly delusional.
 Anti-cuts demo, 2011: most people in 2010 voted against austerity
In 2010, 56.7% of people voted for parties who, at the time, were arguing against austerity. Back then, both Labour and the Lib Dems said they were opposed to spending cuts for at least a year. As Nick Clegg put it in his 2010 Spring Conference speech, little over a month before the election:
"We think that merrily slashing now is an act of economic masochism. If anyone had to rely on our support, and we were involved in government, of course we would say no."
101 days after making that speech, Clegg broke his promise to the British people. He led his party through the lobbies in support of George Osborne's emergency budget: committing the very act of economic masochism he had warned against.
The consequences of his decision were brutal. The fledgling economic recovery was stifled at birth, setting it back by years and, according to one study, costing the average person in the UK £1,500. It triggered a 36% increase in the number of people sleeping rough. The suicide rate shot up. In 2012 alone, more than 200 libraries were shut, and tens of thousands of young people had the confidence knocked out of them at the start of their careers. 
As Clegg had predicted, this plan failed utterly on its own terms. The government is tens of billions away from its own targets, and only achieved the meagre deficit reduction it now claims by including vast asset sales like the Royal Mail and 4G spectrum in its revenue account: an act of dodgy accounting I wouldn't put up with in the small charities I'm a trustee of, never mind the national balance sheet. Perhaps most damning of all, given their rhetoric about borrowing, is the OBR prediction that household debt in Britain will increase back to 170% of disposable income by 2020. Unsecured personal borrowing has already reached its 2008 peak. It's not so much that we're less in the red as a country, just that the state has shifted the debt onto individuals.
The fact that Nick Clegg predicted all of this isn't really the point though. What's important is that British voters did. In 2010, we overwhelmingly backed parties who said that cutting public spending that year would be the act of economic butchery it turned out to be: like trying to reduce the amount of weight we're carrying in a marathon by amputating a leg. Perhaps even more extraordinary is that we never talk about this simple fact: a significant majority of us voted for one approach to the biggest question at that election. We got the opposite.
The astounding democratic deficit displayed in that fact is partly explained by the Lib Dems' capitulation. They traded away things they had implied were red lines in exchange for details of their manifesto that few had noticed because, deep down, their leader was always an Orange Book neoliberal at the helm of a ship which up till then had mostly shown the public its port rather than starboard side. But another reason that this has been allowed is the utter failure of the press to hold anyone to account over this vast change of position.
The uselessness of British reporting on this matter is so astonishing that it's been noticed on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. New York Times columnist and Nobel winning economist Paul Krugman recently asked "why is British economic discourse so bad?". I'd like to tie that question to one I've been asking people for a while now: almost every opinion poll for the last 4 years has shown that Ed Miliband is by far the most likely next Prime Minister. Whatever might happen in the next few weeks, the collection of parties likely to help the Labour leader into Downing Street has so far had a consistent majority when attitude surveys are translated into hypothetical seats. In recent polls, that majority has grown: a fact which, again, was barely reported in the Tory press. Why not?
Likewise, I don't see any particular reason that a swing to the Tories is any more plausible than a shift to Labour. There is a credible case that either will happen, but we are only ever told about the likelihood of the former. Will the revelation that Ed Miliband isn't as bad as the media caricature (how could he be?) make people more likely to vote for him? Will a closer examination of the Conservatives remind people that they have breached almost all of their major promises and missed most of their major targets? Or will people move towards the status quo as the big day approaches? There's a debate to be had, but we've only really heard one half of it in most of the press. It's worth noting that, so far, where pundits largely told us that polls would shift away from Labour in England and the SNP in Scotland, in that far off land called reality, if anything,the opposite has happened (though only a little). 
Despite all this, almost none of the newspapers or broadcasters has told anyone that simple fact: polls have always shown the collection of left leaning parties ahead. This media blackout was only broken this week, when the FT produced the below graphic, calculating that on current polls, there's a higher chance of the Green Party having some role in government than the Conservatives. It's notable that this is also the paper who have been most vocal in criticising George Osborne and Danny Alexander's austerity. As Chomsky has said, the Financial Times is telling, because when the elite is talking to itself, it's more likely to tell the truth.
With these things in mind, I think its worth considering three more facts. 
First, during the Scottish referendum, it was widely reported that Scotland is in fact not much more left wing than England. Whether or not this is true is disputable, but leave that aside for a moment. Every article I saw about thisassumed that this meant that Scotland was really a conservative country, more right wing than its politicians will let on. I never saw anyone in a mainstream paper make the case for a position which I think is much more justifiable if you look at polling on attitudes towards anything from whether the governmentshould 'do more' or 'do less' to the nationalisation of everything from energy companies to banks; from price controls to austerity to decriminalisation of drugs to increasing taxes on the rich to wind farms: it's not that Scotland isn't as left wing as people make out, it's that on a huge range of issues, England is a lot more socialist, socially liberal and environmentalist than its political class. And voters know it - most see themselves as centre-left. 
Second, consider this. You have to be in your forties to have voted in a general election in the UK in which the Conservatives got a majority. There is significant evidence that most who backed the Lib Dems in 2010 did so in the hope of a Lib/Lab pact. Certainly, that's what 54% of them want now, vs 34%who prefer a deal with the Tories. In other words, it seems likely that in every election since the first children of the baby boomers came of age, most people in the UK have voted against having a Tory government. 
Third, polls of young people consistently show Labour far ahead, with the Tories and Greens scrabbling for second place. The average age of the 150,000 Tory members is said to be 68. Greens across the UK will likely pass 70,000 members next week. Of those, around 17,000 are under the age of 30. This means it's extremely likely that there are significantly more under-30s signed up to the Green Party than the traditional party of government in the UK - and possibly more under-40s.
I say all of this because for the last week, my co-editor Olly Huitson and I have been reading and monitoring the quartet of powerful right-wing papers: the Telegraph, the Times, the Daily Mail and the Sun. One of the things which I find utterly extraordinary is the extent to which they are delusional about public attitudes. In one column (behind a paywall), the Sun's Trevor Kavanagh says that he simply doesn't believe opinion polls showing Labour neck-and-neck with the Tories: an extraordinary claim for a major political commentator to make unless he's willing to back it up with some evidence (which he doesn't). All of them screamed blue murder about Labour's position on non-doms: a policy which, it turns out, 77% of the public back. His paper has declared itself the voice of the nation, and they struggle to come to terms with the idea that most people disagree with them on most major issues.
There is, I suppose, another word for this delusion: entitlement. Despite all of the evidence, the people who are accustomed to governing this country just assume that everyone else thinks they should be in charge too. It's an attitude that's written across almost everything they say: when the slightly more left Ed ran as well as his more Blairite brother David, it was Ed who 'stabbed David in the back': the right wing sibling apparently had a divine right to rule. When the right make announcements of policies, they give little evidence that they will work: their assertion is usually sufficient. For the left to get traction, it is required to produce vast piles of data (think "The Spirit Level", or "Capital in the 21st Century"). Again and again, the government utterly misses any of its own targets, does the opposite of what they promise the electorate, or declares black to be white. Again and again, this is dismissed as though it is nothing. They aren't in power to deliver a programme as agreed with the people. They are in power because that is their right and proper place.
It seems to me that there are are a number of simple reasons that no paper but the FT and to an extent the Guardian has reported that Ed Miliband has long been the most likely Prime Minister according to opinion polls. First, they are trying to create a false sense of momentum behind the Tories. Second, as I wrote about a few days ago, they will do everything they can to avoid legitimising Miliband as the democratic choice for Prime Minister. Third, it's easier for old journalists to report a Labour/Tory horse-race than the new-ish complexities of multiparty politics. Fourth, they haven't come to terms with a simple fact. Britain's politics now matches its geology: it leans more to the left than most of us quite realise. The South and East aren't a barometer of public opinion. They are the fringe on the right, with Clacton at its tip. 
The old order is staring death in the face, and refusing to go gracefully. It is, of course, possible that its screams of disbelief will frighten voters into delaying its departure for a further half decade; that polls will tip back to the Tories. But this will only be a postponement of the inevitable: no matter how much they claim to be the voices of the people, the Tories and the right wing press don't speak for us anymore. They are yesterday's men.

Some of these are partially accurate, others are wildly hyperbolic, but when it comes to the historic record, nothing comes closer to the stereotypical, secretive group determining the fate of over 7 billion people, than the Bank of International Settlements, which hides in such plain sight, that few have ever paid much attention.

Hillary Rodham Clinton Enters White House Race; Democrat Seeks to Be First Female President


Obama says of Hillary Rodham Clinton: 'I think she would be an excellent president'

Ending two years of speculation and coy denials, Hillary Rodham Clinton announced on Sunday that she would seek the presidency for a second time, immediately establishing herself as the likely 2016 Democratic nominee.

"I'm running for president," she said with a smile near the end of a two-minute video released just after 3 p.m.

"Everyday Americans need a champion. And I want to be that champion," Mrs. Clinton said. "So I'm hitting the road to earn your vote — because it's your time. And I hope you'll join me on this journey."

The announcement came minutes after emails from John D. Podesta, Mrs. Clinton's campaign chairman, alerting donors and longtime Clinton associates to her candidacy.


As former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton launches her presidential campaign today, the Circle of Protection is asking her to record a video telling Americans what she would do to help hungry and poor people if elected.

"We are praying for a president who will make ending hunger and poverty a top priority of his or her administration. Are you that leader?" asked more than 100 religious leaders in a letter sent to Clinton. They asked the former secretary to record her answer in a three-minute video.

"As national leaders from all the major branches of Christianity, we care deeply about many issues facing our country, but ending hunger and poverty is a top priority," the religious leaders wrote.

Throughout the world, many countries have dramatically reduced the incidence of hunger. However, in the United States, 49.1 million Americans, including 18.1 million children, don't know where their next meal is coming from.

The Circle of Protection will broadly publicize the presidential candidate's video among churches and the public. The Circle of Protection will not evaluate the presidential candidates' policy positions or endorse any candidate.

The Circle of Protection will call on people of faith to examine the presidential candidates' proposals to address poverty both at home and abroad, and to consider the mandate to those who govern to "give deliverance to the needy" (Psalm 72).

"The calling to public service is a sacred vocation. We hold you, and all of the candidates for nomination and election, in our prayers," they added.

আপীল বিভাগে নিষ্পত্তির অপেক্ষায় ॥ ৮ যুদ্ধাপরাধীর ফাঁসি

বিকাশ দত্ত ॥ ট্রাইব্যুনালের দেয়া দণ্ডের বিরুদ্ধে সুপ্রীমকোর্টের আপীল বিভাগে চূড়ান্ত নিষ্পত্তির অপেক্ষায় আরও ৯টি মামলা রয়েছে। বদর বাহিনীর কমান্ডার মুহাম্মদ কামারুজ্জামান ও মিরপুরের কসাই কাদের মোল্লার দণ্ড কার্যকর করা হয়েছে। গোলাম আযম, আব্দুল আলীম এই দুই জন মৃত্যুবরণ করায় আপীল বিভাগ তাদের মামলা অকার্যকর ঘোষণা করেছেন। অন্যদিকে দেলাওয়ার হোসাইন সাঈদীকে আপীল বিভাগ দণ্ড কমিয়ে আমৃত্যু করাদণ্ড প্রদান করেছেন। ৫ জন আসামি পলাতক থাকায় ট্রাইব্যুনালের দেয়া দণ্ড বহাল রয়েছে। ট্রাইব্যুনালে ১৭টি মামলায় ১৮ জনকে দণ্ড দেয়া হয়। এর মধ্যে ১১টি মামলা আপীল দায়ের করা হয়। এদিকে এ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল মাহবুবে আলম আশা করছেন, এ বছরের মধ্যে বেশ কয়েকটি মামলার নিষ্পত্তি হবে। এ সময় তিনি মামলাগুলোর মধ্যে মুজাহিদ, সাকা চৌধুরী, নিজামী এই তিনজনের মামলার শুনানির কাজ শুরু হবে বলে জানান। অন্যদিকে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্টতার অভিযোগে জামায়াতে ইসলামীর বিচার করতে আগামী অধিবেশনের শেষভাগে এ সংশোধনী প্রস্তাব উত্থাপন করা হবে। এমনটিই আভাস দিয়েছেন আইনমন্ত্রী আনিসুল হক। 
আপীল বিভাগে নিষ্পত্তির জন্য ৯টি মামলার মধ্যে রয়েছে জামায়াতের সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল আলী আহসান মুহাম্মদ মুজাহিদ, বিএনপি নেতা সালাউদ্দিন কাদের (সাকা) চৌধুরী, জামায়াতের আমির মতিউর রহমান নিজামী, জামায়াতের নির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য মীর কাশেম আলী, আওয়ামী লীগ থেকে বহিষ্কৃত মোঃ মোবারক হোসেন, জাতীয় পর্টির সাবেক মন্ত্রী সৈয়দ মোঃ কায়সার, জামায়াতের সহকারী সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল এটিএম আজাহারুল ইসলাম, জামায়াতের নায়েবে আমির আব্দুস সুবহান ও জাতীয় পাটির সাবেক নেতা আব্দুল জব্বার। ইতোমধ্যে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে আপীল চূড়ান্ত নিষ্পত্তি শেষে জামায়াতের দুই সহকারী সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল আব্দুল কাদের মোল্লা ও মুহাম্মদ কামারুজ্জামানকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদন্ড কার্যকর করা হয়েছে। আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল জামায়াতের সাবেক আমির গোলাম আযমকে ৯০ বছরের কারাদণ্ড ও আব্দুল আলীমকে আমৃত্যু কারাদণ্ড প্রাদান করেন। এই দুই আসামি অসুস্থ অবস্থায় মৃত্যুবরণ করলে আপীল বিভাগ তাদের আপীল অকার্যকর ঘোষণা করেছেন। জামায়াতের নায়েবে আমির দেলাওয়ার হোসাইন সাঈদীকে ট্রাইব্যুনাল মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রদান করলেও সুপ্রীমকোর্টের আপীল বিভাগে তাকে আমৃত্যু কারাদণ্ড প্রদান করেন। 
অন্যদিকে ট্রাইব্যুনাল কর্তৃক দণ্ডপ্রাপ্ত ৫ আসামি পলাতক রয়েছেন। পলাতক থাকার কারণে তারা আপীল করতে পারেনি। কাজেই তাদের দণ্ড বহাল রয়েছে। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে বাচ্চু রাজাকার হিসেবে পরিচিত আবুল কালাম আজাদ, বুদ্ধিজীবী হত্যার অন্যতম নায়ক আশরাফুজ্জামান খান, চৌধুরী মাঈনুদ্দিন, বিএনপির নেতা জাহিদ হোসেন খোকন ও আব্দুল জব্বার। আব্দুল জব্বারের বিরুদ্ধে ট্রাইব্যুনাল আমৃত্যু করাদণ্ড প্রদান করেন। রাষ্ট্রপক্ষ ঐ দণ্ড বাড়ানোর জন্য সুপ্রীমকোর্টে আপীল করেছেন। 
মুজাহিদ ॥ জামায়াতের সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল আলী আহসানের বিরুদ্ধে হত্যা, গণহত্যা, লুণ্ঠন,অপহরণ, দেশত্যাগে বাধ্য করা ও অগ্নিসংযোগের দায়ে সাতটি অভিযোগের মধ্যে ৫টি প্রমাণিত হওয়ায় আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-২, ২০১৩ সালের ১৭ জুলাই ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রদান করেন। সাত অভিযোগের পাঁচটি ঘটনায় জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগ সন্দেহাতীতভাবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে ট্রাইব্যুনালের রায়ে। মধ্যে সাংবাদিক সিরাজুদ্দীন হোসেনসহ বুদ্ধিজীবী হত্যা এবং হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর বর্বর হত্যা-নির্যাতনের দায়ে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মুজাহিদের মৃত্যুদণ্ড কার্যকর করার আদেশ প্রদান করেন ট্রাইব্যুনাল। সাতটি অভিযোগের মধ্যে ২টি অভিযোগ (২ ও ৪) প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় অভিযোগের দায় থেকে মুজাহিদকে খালাস দেয়া হয়েছে। অন্যদিকে ৫টি অভিযোগ (১,৩,৫,৬ ও ৭) সন্দেহাতীতভাবে প্রমাণিত হওয়ায় ট্রাইব্যুনাল তাকে ৩ নং অভিযোগে ৫ বছর ও ৫নং অভিযোগ যাবজ্জীবন কারাদ- প্রদান করেছে। ৬ ও ৭নং অভিযোগে মুজাহিদকে মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রদান করা হয়েছে। ১নং অভিযোগটি ৬নং অভিযোগের সঙ্গে একীভূত করায় ১নং অভিযোগে পৃথক কোন দণ্ড দেয়া হয়নি। আসামি পক্ষ এ রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে ২০১৪ সালের ১১ আগস্ট আপীল করেন। 
সাকা চৌধুরী ॥ বিএনপি নেতা সালাউদ্দিন কাদের চৌধুরীকে আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল -১ মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে ২০১৩ সালের ১ অক্টোবর মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রদান করেন। তার বিরুদ্ধে হত্যা, ধর্ষণ, অপহরণ, নির্যাতন জোর করে ধর্মান্তরিত করাসহ ২৩ অভিযোগের মধ্যে ৯টি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত হয়। এর মধ্যে চারটি চার্জ ৩, ৫, ৬ ও ৮ নম্বর অভিযোগে হত্যা ও গণহত্যার দায়ে সাকা চৌধুরীকে মৃত্যুদ- দেয়া হয়। ১৭ ও ১৮ নম্বর অভিযোগে অপহরণ ও নির্যাতনের দায়ে ৫ বছর করে ১০ বছর কারাদণ্ড। ২, ৪ ও ৭ নম্বর অভিযোগে হত্যা, গণহত্যা, লুটপাট, অগ্নিসংযোগ ও দেশান্তরে বাধ্য করার মতো অপরাধে জড়িত থাকা এবং এর পরিকল্পনা করার দায়ে ২০ বছর করে ৬০ বছর কারাদ- দেয়া হয়েছে।
আর অপহরণ ও নির্যাতন সংক্রান্ত অভিযোগে আনা হয়েছে তার বিরুদ্ধে। ১৭ নম্বর অভিযোগে নিজাম উদ্দিন আহম্মেদকে অপহরণ ও নির্যাতন, ১৮ নম্বর অভিযোগে সালেহ উদ্দিন আহমেদকে অপহরণ ও নির্যাতন- এ দুই অভিযোগে সাকাকে দেয়া হয়েছে ৫ বছরের সশ্রম কারাদণ্ড। ২, ৪ ও ৭ নম্বর অভিযোগে তাঁকে দেয়া হয়েছে ২০ বছরের কারাদণ্ড। আর যে সব অভিযোগ থেকে তাঁকে অব্যাহতি দেয়া হয়েছে সেগুলো হলো ১, ১০, ১১, ১২, ১৪, ১৯, ২০ ও ২৩। এ ছাড়াও যে অভিযোগগুলো নিয়ে আদালত কিছু বলেনি সেগুলো হলো ৯, ১৩, ১৫, ১৬, ২১ ও ২২ নম্বর অভিযোগ। মৃত্যুদন্ডের বিরুদ্ধে সাকা ২০১৩ সালের ২৯ অক্টোবর সুপ্রীমকোর্টে আপিল করেন। 
মতিউর রহমান নিজামী ॥ একাত্তরের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় বুদ্ধিজীবী হত্যার নীলনক্সা বাস্তবায়ন, হত্যা, ধর্ষণ, লুণ্ঠন সম্পত্তি ধ্বংস, দেশত্যাগে বাধ্য করায় আলবদর বাহিনীর প্রধান বিএনপি-জামায়াত জোট সরকারের সাবেক মন্ত্রী ১০ ট্রাক অস্ত্র মামলার রায়ে মৃত্যুদ-প্রাপ্ত আসামি জামায়াতে ইসলামীর বর্তমান আমির মতিউর রহমান নিজামীকে ২০১৪ সালের ২৯ অক্টোবর ফাঁসির আদেশ দিয়েছে ট্রাইব্যুনাল। মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের মামলায় ১৬টি অভিযোগের মধ্যে ৮টি অভিযোগ সন্দেহাতীতভাবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। ৪ অভিযোগে তাঁকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদ-ের আদেশ দিয়েছে ট্রাইব্যুনাল। অপর ৪টি অভিযোগে তাকে যাবজ্জীন কারাদ- দেয়া হয়েছে। বাকি ৮টি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় তাকে খালাস দেয়া হয়েছে। বিচাররপতি চেয়ারম্যান এম ইনায়েতুর রহিমের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুাল-১ এ আদেশ প্রদান করেন। এ রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে ২০১৪ সালের ২৩ নবেম্বর নিজামীর আপীল করেন। 
মীর কাশেম আলী ॥ একাত্তরে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের মামলায় আলবদর বাহিনীর তৃতীয় শীর্ষনেতা তৎকালীন ইসলামী ছাত্রসংঘের সাধারণ সম্পাদক, চট্টগ্রামের বাঙালী খান, জামায়াতে ইসলামীর নির্বাহী পরিষদের সদস্য মীর কাশেম আলীকে ২০১৪ সালের ২ নবেম্বর ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ডের রায় প্রদান করেছে ট্রাইব্যুনাল। মীর কাশেম আলীর বিরুদ্ধে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের মামলায় ১৪টি অভিযোগের মধ্যে হত্যা, অপহরণ নির্যাতনের ১০টি অভিযোগ সন্দেহাতীতভাবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। দুই অভিযোগের মধ্যে একটিতে সর্বসম্মতিতে আরেকটি সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠের মতামতের ভিত্তিতে তাঁকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদন্ডের আদেশ দেয়া হয়। অপর ৮টি অভিযোগে সর্বমোট ৭২ বছর করাদ- দেয়া হয়েছে। বাকি ৪টি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় তাকে খালাস দেয়া হয়েছে। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি ওবায়দুল হাসান শাহীনের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-২ এ আদেশ প্রদান করেন। এ রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে মীর কাশেম আলী ২০১৪ সালের ৩০ নবেম্বর আপীল করেন। 
খোকন রাজাকার ॥ একাত্তরের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় হত্যা, গণহত্যা, ধর্ষণ, অগ্নিসংযোগ, লুটপাটের অভিযোগে ফরিদপুরের নগরকান্দা পৌর মেয়র ও পৌর বিএনপির সহসভাপতি পলাতক জাহিদ হোসেন খোকন ওরফে খোকন রাজাকারকে ২০১৪ সালের ১৩ নবেম্বর ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রদান করেছে ট্রাইব্যুনাল। খোকনের বিরুদ্ধে আনা ১১টি অভিযোগের মধ্যে ১০টি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত। এর মধ্যে ছয়টি অভিযোগে মৃত্যুদণ্ড ও চারটি অভিযোগে ৪০ বছর কারাদণ্ড প্রদান করেছে। একটি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় তাকে খালাস দেয়া হয়েছে। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি এম ইনায়েতুর রহিমের নেতৃত্বে আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ এই রায় প্রদান করেন। 
মোবারক হোসেন ॥ একাত্তরের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত জামায়াতে ইসলামীর সাবেক রোকন আওয়ামী লীগ থেকে বহিষ্কৃত ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার রাজাকার কমান্ডার মোঃ মোবারক হোসেনকে ২০১৪ সালের ২৪ নবেম্বর ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদ- প্রদান করেছে ট্রাইব্যুনাল। হত্যা, গণহত্যা, অপহরণ, জোরপূর্বক আটক রাখা, নির্যাতন, লুটপাটের পাঁচটি অভিযোগের মধ্যে অভিযোগ-১ এ তাকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ড এবং অভিযোগ-৩ এ যাবজ্জীবন কারাদণ্ড প্রদান করা হয়েছে। অন্য তিনটি অভিযোগ-২, ৪, ৫ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় আসামিকে খালাস প্রদান করা হয়েছে। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি এম ইনায়েতুর রহিমের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ এ আদেশ প্রদান করেছেন। এ রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে মোবারক হোসেন আপীল করেছেন। 
সৈয়দ মোঃ কায়সার ॥ একাত্তরের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত জাতীয় পার্টির সাবেক কৃষি প্রতিমন্ত্রী কায়সার বাহিনীর প্রধান সৈয়দ মোহাম্মদ কায়সারকে ২০১৪ সালের ২৩ ডিসেম্বর ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ডের আদেশ দিয়েছেন ট্রাইব্যুনাল। তার বিরুদ্ধে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের ১৬টি অভিযোগের মধ্যে হত্যা-গণহত্যা, ধর্ষণ, নির্যাতন, আটক, মুক্তিপণ আদায়, অগ্নিসংযোগ ও লুণ্ঠন এবং ষড়যন্ত্রের ১৪টি প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে ৭টি অভিযোগে ফাঁসি, ৪টিতে আমৃত্যু কারাদণ্ড, ৩টিতে ২২ বছরের কারাদণ্ড ও দুটি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় খালাস দেয়া হয়েছে। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি ওবায়দুল হাসান শাহীনের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-২ এ আদেশ প্রদান করেছেন। কায়সার এই রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আপীল করেছেন। 
এটিএম আজাহারুল ইসলাম ॥ একাত্তরের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত জামায়াতে ইসলামীর সহকারী সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল ও আলবদর কমান্ডার এটিএম আজাহারুল ইসলামকে ২০১৪ সালের ৩০ ডিসেম্বর ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ডের আদেশ দিয়েছেন ট্রাইব্যুনাল। তার বিরুদ্ধে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের ৬টি অভিযোগের মধ্যে হত্যা-গণহত্যা, ধর্ষণ, নির্যাতন, আটক, অগ্নিসংযোগ ও লুণ্ঠনের ৫টি অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে ৩টি অভিযোগে ফাঁসি, ২টিতে ৩০ বছরের কারাদণ্ড ও একটিতে অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় খালাস দেয়া হয়েছে। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি এম ইনায়েতুর রহিমের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ এ আদেশ প্রদান করেছেন। তিনি এ রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আপীল করেছেন। 
ইঞ্জিনিয়ার আব্দুল জব্বার ॥ একাত্তরের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত পলাতক পিরোজপুরের রাজাকার কমান্ডার জাতীয় পার্টির সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য ইঞ্জিনিয়ার আব্দুল জব্বারকে ২০১৫ সালের ২৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি আমৃত্যু কারাদণ্ড প্রদান করেছেন ট্রাইব্যুনাল। আসামি জব্বারের বিরুদ্ধে প্রসিকিউশন পক্ষেও আনা পাঁচটি অভিযোগের সবকটি প্রমাণ করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে তারা। রায়ে আনা অভিযোগের মধ্যে এক, দুই, তিন এবং পাঁচে মৃত্যুদণ্ড ও চার নম্বর অভিযোগে ২০ বছরের কারাদণ্ড এবং ১০ লাখ টাকা জরিমানা করেছেন রায়ে। আনাদায়ে আরও দুই বছরের সশ্রম কারাদ- প্রদান করা হয়েছে। অভিযোগ মৃত্যুদণ্ড যোগ্য হলেও বয়সের বিবেচনায় তাকে এই দণ্ড দেয়া হয়েছে। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি এম ইনায়েতুর রহিমের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ মঙ্গলবার এই রায় ঘোষণা করেন। রাষ্ট্রপক্ষ এ রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আপীল করেছেন। 
আব্দুস সুবহান ॥ একাত্তরে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত জামায়াতে ইসলামীর নায়েবে আমির শান্তি কমিটি ও রাজাকার বাহিনীর সংগঠক আবদুস সুবহানকে ২০১৫ সালের ৪ ডিসেম্বর মৃত্যুদ- দিয়েছেন ট্রাইব্যুনাল। আসামির বিরুদ্ধে আনা ৮ ধরনের ৯টি মানবতাবিরোধী অভিযোগের মধ্যে গণহত্যা, হত্যা, অপহরণ, আটক, নির্যাতন, লুটপাট, অগ্নিসংযোগ ও ষড়যন্ত্রের ৬টি সন্দেহাতীতভাবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে ১, ৪ ও ৬ নম্বর অভিযোগে তাকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদণ্ড প্রদান করেন ট্রাইব্যুনাল। ২ ও ৭ নম্বর অভিযোগ আমৃত্যু কারাদ- ও ৩ নম্বর অভিযোগে ৫ বছরের কারাদণ্ড প্রদান করা হয়েছে। এছাড়া সন্দেহাতীতভাবে প্রমাণিত না হওয়ায় ৫, ৮ ও ৯ নম্বর অভিযোগ থেকে খালাস পেয়েছেন আবদুস সুবহান। চেয়ারম্যান বিচারপতি ওবায়দুল হাসান শাহীনের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যবিশিষ্ট আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল-২ এ রায় প্রদান করেছেন। এই রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে সুবহান আপীল করেছেন।
আইনমন্ত্রী ॥ মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্টতার অভিযোগে জামায়াতে ইসলামীর বিচার করতে জাতীয় সংসদে এ সংক্রান্ত আইনের সংশোধনী প্রস্তাব উত্থাপন করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন আইনমন্ত্রী আনিসুল হক। আসছে বাজেট অধিবেশনের শেষভাগে এ সংশোধনী প্রস্তাব উত্থাপন করা হবে বলে তিনি জানান।
রবিবার সকালে বিচার প্রশাসন প্রশিক্ষণ ইনস্টিটিউটে ১২৬তম রিফ্রেশার্স কোর্সের উদ্বোধন শেষে সাংবাদিকদের এ কথা জানান আইনমন্ত্রী। জ্যেষ্ঠ সহকারী বিচারকরা এ কোর্সে অংশ নিচ্ছেন। মন্ত্রী বলেন, আগামী বাজেট সেশনের শেষের দিকে আমরা আইনটি জাতীয় সংসদে উত্থাপন করব। আশা করছি, বাজেট শেষ হওয়ার আগেই এ আইন পাস হবে।
শনিবার জামায়াতের সহকারী সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল কামারুজ্জামানের ফাঁসির রায় কার্যকর করার বিষয়ে আইনমন্ত্রী বলেন, বর্তমান সরকার মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের বিচারের ব্যাপারে কখনই পিছপা হয়নি, হবেও না। এই বিচার সম্পূর্ণ স্বচ্ছ ও আন্তর্জাতিকমানের হচ্ছে বলে দাবি করেন তিনি। আনিসুল হক বলেন, অপরাধ সংগঠনের প্রায় ৪৪ বছর পর হলেও আমরা এ বিচার পেয়েছি। এর মাধ্যমে এটা প্রমাণিত হয়েছে, আমরা বাংলাদেশে আইনের শাসন প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে পেরেছি।
এ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল ॥ এ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল মাহবুবে আলম বলেছেন, মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধে অভিযুক্ত জামায়াতের নায়েবে আমির দেলাওয়ার হোসাইন সাঈদীর মামলার রায় নিয়ে আমার আক্ষেপ রয়ে গেল। তাকে ফাঁসি দেয়া গেল না। সাঈদীকে ফাঁসি দেয়ার সব তথ্য প্রমাণই ছিল। শুধু প্রসিকিউসন এবং তদন্ত সংস্থার গাফেলতির কারণে ফাঁসি দেয়া গেল না। দ্বিতীয় যুদ্ধাপরাধী হিসেবে জামায়াতের সহকারী সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল মোহাম্মদ কামারুজ্জামানকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলিয়ে মৃত্যুদ- কার্যকর করার পর রবিবার দুপুরে নিজ কার্যালয়ে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।
এ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল বলেন, এই বছরের মধ্যে আরও তিনটি মামলার রায় কার্যকর করা হবে। প্রধান বিচারপতির নেতৃত্বে সুপ্রীমকোর্ট খুব দ্রুতই এসব মামলা নিষ্পত্তির কাজ করছে। এ সময় তিনি মামলাগুলোর মধ্যে মুজাহিদ, সাকা চৌধুরী, নিজামী এই তিনজনের মামলার শুনানির কাজ শুরু হবে বলে জানান। সাংবাদিকরা সাঈদীর মামলার রায়ের রিভিউ করার আবেদন করা হবে কিনা জানতে চাইলে তিনি বলেন, সাঈদীর মামলার রায়ের পূর্ণাঙ্গ অনুলিপি এখনও প্রকাশিত হয়নি। প্রকাশিত হওয়ার পর রিভিউ আবেদনের মাধ্যমে ফাঁসির রায় পুনর্বহালের আরজি জানানোর চিন্তা করা হবে।

স্টাফ রিপোর্টার ॥ বাঙালীর প্রাণের উৎসব বাংলা নববর্ষ পহেলা বৈশাখ নির্বিঘœ করতে পুরো সপ্তাহজুড়েই সারাদেশে রেড এ্যালার্ট জারি করা হয়েছে। আজ বিকেল পাঁচটা থেকে রমনা পার্কসহ আশপাশের রাস্তায় যানবাহন চলাচলের ওপর কড়াকড়ি আরোপ করা হচ্ছে। সন্ধ্যা সাতটার মধ্যে রমনা ও সোহ্রাওয়ার্দী উদ্যান থেকে সর্বসাধারণকে চলে যেতে বলা হয়েছে। পরবর্তী নির্দেশ না দেয়া পর্যন্ত প্রবেশ নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। পহেলা বৈশাখ সকাল থেকে রাত আটটা পর্যন্ত রমনা পার্ক ও সোহ্রাওয়ার্দী উদ্যানসহ আশপাশের রাস্তায় যানবাহন চলাচল বন্ধ থাকবে। কোন প্রকার ভাসমান দোকান ও হকার বসতে দেয়া হচ্ছে না। এ সব এলাকায় যাতায়াতকারীদের গলায় পরিচয়পত্র ঝুলিয়ে রাখতে বলা হয়েছে। 
শিশু-কিশোরদের জামার পকেটে প্রয়োজনীয় মোবাইল ফোন নম্বর বা যোগাযোগের ঠিকানা লিখে দিয়ে রাখতে অনুষ্ঠানস্থলে গমনাগমনকারীদের অনুরোধ করা হয়েছে। যাতে কেউ হারিয়ে গেলে তাকে পাওয়া সহজ হয়। অপ্রীতিকর পরিস্থিতি এড়াতে ইলিশ কিংবা যে কোন ধরনের খাবার গ্রহণের পূর্বে খাবারের মানের পাশাপাশি মূল্য সম্পর্কে নিশ্চিত হওয়ার আহ্বানও জানানো হয়েছে।
যুদ্ধাপরাধী কামারুজ্জামানের ফাঁসি কার্যকরের প্রতিবাদে পহেলা বৈশাখের আগের দিন আজ সোমবার সারাদেশে জামায়াতের হরতাল ডাকার বিষয়টি মাথায় রেখেই সারাদেশে রেড এলার্ট থাকছে। বিশেষ নিরাপত্তা বলয়ের মধ্যে থাকছে রমনা বটমূলসহ রাজধানীর বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানস্থল। আকাশে র‌্যাবের হেলিকপ্টার টহল দিবে, রমনার ঝিলে প্রস্তুত থাকছে নৌবাহিনীর ডুবুরী দল, ডগ স্কোয়াড, বম্ব ডিসপোজাল ইউনিট, সোয়াট, ক্রাইসিস রেসপন্স টিম, পুলিশ ও র‌্যাবের স্ট্রাইকিং ফোর্স আর পুরো এলাকায় বসানো হয়েছে অসংখ্য সিসি ক্যামেরা। থাকছে ওয়াচ টাওয়ার। সেখানে শক্তিশালী বাইন্যুকুলার সংযোজিত বিশেষ রাইফেল নিয়ে পাহারায় থাকছে র‌্যাব ও সোয়াট। এ সব রাইফেল দিয়ে কয়েক কিলোমিটার দূরের লক্ষ্যবস্তুতেও অনায়াসে আঘাত করা সম্ভব। 
রবিবার দুপুর আড়াইটায় ডিএমপি কমিশনার আছাদুজ্জামান মিয়া আনুষ্ঠানিক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে জানান, নগরীতে কঠোর নিরাপত্তামূলক ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হয়েছে। উদ্বেগের কোন কারণ নেই। রমনা পার্ক এলাকায় হাতব্যাগ বা অন্যান্য ব্যাগ বহন, ধূমপান ও গাছে ওঠা নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার বিকেল সাড়ে পাঁচটার মধ্যে পহেলা বৈশাখের অনুষ্ঠান শেষ করতে আয়োজকদের অনুরোধ করেন তিনি। সংবাদ সম্মেলনে পুলিশের উর্ধতন কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। 
ডিএমপির ট্রাফিক বিভাগ থেকে জানানো হয়, উত্তর দিকে থেকে আসা গাড়ি এবি হাউস থেকে হলি ফ্যামিলি রাস্তায়, পূর্বদিক থেকে আসা গাড়ি জিরো পয়েন্ট থেকে আব্দুল গণি রোড ও মৎসভবন থেকে সেগুন বাগিচার কার্পেট গলি পর্যন্ত, দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম দিক থেকে আসা গাড়ি জগন্নাথ হল থেকে পলাশীর রাস্তায় এবং পশ্চিম দিক থেকে আসা যানবাহন আজিজ সুপার মার্কেটের পাশের রাস্তায় পার্কিং করা যাবে। 
রবিবার বিকেল সাড়ে তিনটায় রমনা বটমূলে নিরাপত্তা পর্যবেক্ষণ করে র‌্যাব মহাপরিচালক বেনজীর আহমেদ জানান, যে কোন ধরনের নাশকতা প্রতিরোধে র‌্যাব প্রস্তুত রয়েছে। পুলিশের পাশাপাশি র‌্যাবও কন্ট্রোলরুম স্থাপন করে পুরো এলাকার ওপর নজর রাখবে। বিশেষ টহলে থাকবে র‌্যাবের হেলিকপ্টার। মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রার নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে র‌্যাবের বিশেষ দল থাকছে। শোভাযাত্রাটি শাহবাগ থেকে শুরু হয়ে নীলক্ষেত পলাশী হয়ে বকশীবাজার-চানখারপুল হয়ে হাইকোর্ট মাজার হয়ে টিএসসিতে গিয়ে শেষ হবে। 
আজ স্বরাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান কামাল ও ডিএমপি কমিশনারসহ আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর উর্ধতন কর্মকর্তারা রমনা বটমূলের নিরাপত্তা পর্যবেক্ষণের কথা রয়েছে। 
আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী সূত্রে জানা গেছে, রমনা বটমূলে প্রবেশ পথগুলোতে বসানো হচ্ছে আর্চওয়ে মেটাল ডিটেক্টর। ওয়াচ টাওয়ারে বিশেষ রাইফেল নিয়ে পাহারা দিচ্ছে র‌্যাব। নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে আরও থাকছে জলকামান, এপিসি (আর্মার পেট্রোল কার) ও মহিলা গোয়েন্দা দল। অসুস্থদের সেবা দিতে থাকছে ভ্রাম্যমাণ একাধিক মেডিক্যাল টিম। থাকছে অনুসন্ধান সেল। পুরো এলাকায় থাকছে অসংখ্য বেরিকেড আর চেকপোস্ট। বসছে একাধিক কন্ট্রোলরুম। সেখান থেকে পুরো এলাকার ওপর মনিটরিং করা হবে। অনুষ্ঠানস্থলে সন্দেহজনক কোন সরঞ্জাম, বস্তু, ব্যাগ, অস্ত্র, ছুরি, কাঁচি, পটকা, দাহ্যপদার্থ, ক্ষয়কারক তরল, ব্লেড, নেইল কাটার, দিয়াশলাই, গ্যাসলাইটার সঙ্গে বহন নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে।

নতুন ষড়যন্ত্র বিজেপি ও আরএসএসের ॥ কংগ্রেস

ভারতের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের বিপ্লবী নেতা নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর পরিবারের ওপর ২০ বছর ধরে নজরদারি করেছে প্রথম প্রধানমন্ত্রী জওহরলাল নেহরু ও পরবর্তী সরকার। এই তথ্য সামনে আসতেই দেশটিজুড়ে ব্যাপক বিতর্ক তৈরি হয়েছে। এর তীব্র সমালোচনা করে প্রধান বিরোধী দল কংগ্রেস বলেছে, গান্ধী পরিবারের ভাবমূর্তির ওপর সরাসরি আঘাত হানতে এটা ক্ষমতাসীন দল বিজেপি ও রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বয়ংসেবক সংঘের (আরএসএস) নতুন ষড়যন্ত্র। খবর আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকার।
কংগ্রেসের অনেক নেতাই মনে করেন, কংগ্রেসকে সুসংহত বা চাঙ্গা করে তুলতে গান্ধী পরিবারের বিকল্প নেই দলে। এমন পরিস্থিতিতে বিশেষ ভূমিকায় অবতীর্ণ হয়েছেন দলের সভাপতি সোনিয়া গান্ধী। প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির জমি নীতির বিরোধিতা করে ১৯ এপ্রিল কৃষক সভার ডাক দিয়েছেন তিনি। মূলত ওই সভার মাধ্যমে সর্বভারতীয় রাজনীতিতে গান্ধী পরিবারকে ফের পুরনো মহিমায় তুলে ধরার মরিয়া চেষ্টায় নেমেছেন সোনিয়া। সেই চেষ্টা নস্যাত করতেই মোদিরা গান্ধী পরিবারের ভাবমূর্তির ওপরেই সরাসরি আঘাত করতে চাইছেন বলে অভিযোগ কংগ্রেসের নেতাদের। কংগ্রেসকে রাজনৈতিকভাবে আরও দুর্বল করে দিতেই গান্ধী পরিবার সম্পর্কে বিদ্বেষের বীজ বুনছে মোদি-জেটলি-সঙ্ঘ পরিবার। 
নেহরু-গান্ধী পরিবার সম্পর্কে সন্দেহ তৈরি হওয়ায় স্বাভাবিকভাবেই বিচলিত কংগ্রেস। মূলত দু'টি প্রশ্ন তুলছে তারা। কেন ঠিক এই সময়েই এসব ঘটছে। পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয় সূত্রের খবর, মোদির জার্মানি সফরের সময় তাঁর সঙ্গে নেতাজির পৌত্র দেখা করে নেতাজি সম্পর্কিত সব ফাইল প্রকাশের দাবি জানাবেন প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে। তার ঠিক আগেই প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দফতর থেকে মহাফেজখানায় পাঠানো দু'টি ফাইলের বিষয় সামনে আনা হলো। এগুলোকে মোটেই বিচ্ছিন্ন ঘটনা বলে মনে করছে না কংগ্রেস। দ্বিতীয় প্রশ্ন বল্লভভাই প্যাটেলকে নিয়ে। নেহরু আমলের প্রথম তিন বছর, ১৯৪৭ থেকে ১৯৫০ পর্যন্ত তিনিই ছিলেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী। কংগ্রেসের প্রশ্ন, নেহরু জমানায় আইবির নজরদারি কি প্যাটেলের অগোচরে হয়েছে? প্যাটেলের সুবিশাল মূর্তি তৈরি করছে মোদি সরকার। 
এদিকে নজরদারি নিয়ে এনসিপি নেতা শারদ পাওয়ারের প্রতিক্রিয়া কিছুটা ভিন্ন। তিনি বলেন, নজর রাখে সব সরকারই। নজর রাখা মানেই চরবৃত্তি নয়। তবে এত দিন পরে এখন কেন এই প্রশ্ন তোলা হচ্ছে। তবে বিজেপি নেতাজি পরিবারের ওপরে নজরদারির প্রসঙ্গ তুলে কংগ্রেসকে রাজনৈতিকভাবে আক্রমণ করেছেন। 
কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী বেঙ্কাইয়া নাইডু বলেছেন, রাজনৈতিক প্রতিপক্ষ সম্পর্কে কংগ্রেসের মনোভাব ও আচরণ কতটা নেতিবাচক তা এই ঘটনাতেই প্রমাণিত। নজরদারির বিষয়টি নিয়ে পূর্ণাঙ্গ তদন্ত হওয়া উচিত বলে আমি মনে করি। এ নিয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিংয়ের সঙ্গে কথা বলব।

বিশ্বের অনেক উন্নয়নশীল দেশে এখন অনেক মেয়ে স্কুলে যাচ্ছে এবং প্রাথমিক শিক্ষায় মেয়েদের ঝড়ে পড়ার হার আগের চেয়ে অনেক কমে এসেছে। কারণ পরিবার ও সরকার মেয়েদের শিক্ষার অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক সুবিধাগুলো উপলব্ধি করতে পারছে। তবে মৌলবাদী ইসলামপন্থী ও অন্যদের হুমকির ফলে মেয়েদের শিক্ষার অগ্রগতি হ্রাস পেতে পারে।
বিশ্বে মেয়েদের শিক্ষায় যেসব দেশ এগিয়ে গেছে তাদের মধ্যে আফগানিস্তান অন্যতম। দেশটিতে গত ১৫ বছরে মেয়েদের স্কুলে যাওয়ার হার তিন শতাংশ বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৪০ শতাংশের মতো। উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলোতে প্রাথমিক শিক্ষায় ছেলে-মেয়েদের অনুপাত প্রায় সমান। তবে মাধ্যমিক স্তরের শিক্ষা এখনও একটি চ্যালেঞ্জ। নারীদের শিক্ষা নিয়ে কাজ করায় পাকিস্তানের মালালা ইউসুফজাই ডিসেম্বরে সবচেয়ে কম বয়েসী হিসেবে নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার গ্রহণ করেছেন। তবে মেয়েদের শিক্ষার অগ্রগতির সঙ্গে সঙ্গে নেতিবাচক প্রতিক্রিয়াও এসেছে। আফ্রিকা, মধ্যপ্রাচ্য ও এশিয়ার কিছু অংশে স্কুলের মেয়েদের স্কুল ত্যাগ করে বিয়ে না হওয়া পর্যন্ত বাড়িতে বসে থাকার জন্য চাপ দেয়া হচ্ছে। জাতিসংঘের মানবাধিকার বিষয়ক হাইকমিশনারের (ওএইচসিএইচআর) জেন্ডার এ্যাডভাইজার গাইনেল কুরি বলেছেন, আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায় মেয়েদের স্কুলে যাওয়ার এবং তাদের ঝরে পড়া কমিয়ে আনার বিষয়ে অগ্রাধিকার দিয়েছে এবং আমরা এতে সফলতা লাভ করেছি। কিন্তু আমরা যা অর্জন করেছি, উগ্রপন্থীদের ক্রমবর্ধমান হুমকি তাতে সমস্যা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। এই ক্রমবর্ধমান প্রতিকূল পরিবেশের ওপর জোর দিয়ে জাতিসংঘের মানবাধিকার সংস্থার এক প্রতিবেদনে দেখা গেছে, মেয়েদের স্কুলে হামলার ঘটনা গত পাঁচ বছরে বেড়েছে। -ক্রিশ্চিয়ান সায়েন্স মনিটর

বাবু ইসলাম ॥ পহেলা বৈশাখ। বাঙালীর সর্বজনীন উৎসব। এ উৎসব পালনের প্রস্তুতি শুরু হয়েছে অনেক আগেই। যে কোন উৎসব-পার্বণ পালনে পূর্ব প্রস্তুতি আগে থেকেই নিতে হয়। বৈশাখের উৎসবে গ্রামীণ জনপদ নেচে ওঠে। আয়োজন করা হয় বিভিন্ন ধরনের মেলা, বৈশাখী পোশাকে সাজে সব বয়সের মানুষ, ঘটে পিঠাপুলি, পায়েশসহ নানা ধরনের খাদ্যের সমাহার। আর বাঙালীর এই প্রাণের উৎসবে নারীদের সাজগোজের অন্যতম হলো শাড়ি। তাই পহেলা বৈশাখ ঘিরে তাঁত শিল্পসমৃদ্ধ সিরাজগঞ্জের তাঁতীরা 'বৈশাখী শাড়ি'তৈরিতে এখন ব্যস্ত হয়ে ওঠে। বাংলার ঐতিহ্য ডুগি-তবলা, পাখা, ঘুড়ি, বেহালা, এসো হে বৈশাখ, শুভ নববর্ষসহ নানা ধরনের আল্পনা আঁকা হচ্ছে 'বৈশাখী শাড়ি'কাপড়ে।
তাঁত শ্রমিক-কর্মচারীদের পাশাপাশি তাঁতী পরিবারের বউ-ঝি, ছেলে-মেয়েরাও বৈশাখ উপলক্ষে ব্যস্ত সময় পার করছে। উদয়-অস্ত কাজ করছে সবাই। লোডশেডিং, খরতাপ উপেক্ষা করে 'বৈশাখী শাড়ি'মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছে দেয়ার প্রতিযোগিতায় তাঁতীপাড়া ব্যস্ত হয়ে উঠেছে। এখানকার তৈরি শাড়ির উন্নতমানের সুতা, টেকসই, আধুনিক নক্সা এবং দাম কম হওয়ার কারণে কোটি-কোটি টাকার শাড়ি 'বাংলা নববর্ষ'উপলক্ষে ভারতে রফতানি করা হয়।
বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতুর পশ্চিমপাড়ের তাঁতীপাড়া সয়দাবাদের হান্নান জানান, আট হাত থেকে ১১ হাত পর্যন্ত শাড়ি পহেলা বৈশাখের জন্য তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। সাদা কাপড়ের ওপর বাংলার ঐতিহ্যবাহী ডুগি-তবলা, পাখা, ঘুড়ি, বেহালা, এসো হে বৈশাখ, শুভ নববর্ষসহ নানা ধরনের আল্পনা আঁকা ব্লক প্রিন্ট করে শাড়ি তৈরি করছে। দাম প্রকার ভেদে আট হাত শাড়ি এক শ'৮০ টাকা থেকে ২৫০ টাকা। ১১ হাত শাড়ির দাম তিন শ'থেকে এক হাজার টাকা পর্যন্ত।
শাহজাদপুর, বেলকুচি, সিরাজগঞ্জ সদর, উল্লাপাড়া ও এনায়েতপুরে বৈশাখীর কাপড় তৈরি করছে তাঁতীরা। দুই হাজারেরও বেশি তাঁতী এই বৈশাখী শাড়ি তৈরি করছেন। এবারের বৈশাখে সিরাজগঞ্জের শাড়িতে থাকছে আরও নতুনত্ব। দিন-রাত সর্বত্রই চলছে 'বৈশাখীর শাড়ি', গামছা, লুঙ্গি তৈরির কাজ। ব্যাপক চাহিদা থাকায় তাঁত মালিক ও শ্রমিকরা দিনরাত কাজ করছেন। নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের বাইরেও অতিরিক্ত সময়ে কাজ করতে হচ্ছে তাদের। রাজশাহী থেকে মামুন-অর-রশিদ জানান, এক সময় বৈশাখ মানে ছিল শুধু গ্রামকেন্দ্রিক চড়কের মেলা, ঘুড়ি উড়ানো আর দোকানে দোকানে হালখাতার উৎসব। সময়ের ব্যবধানে এখন এ ধারা পাল্টে অবস্থান নিয়েছে শহর জীবনেও। গ্রাম থেকে শহর সবখানেই এখন একই ধারা। তবে বৈশাখের উৎসবে এখনও গ্রামের অনুষঙ্গ শহর জীবনেও। তাই বৈশাখ বরণের প্রস্তুতি সবখানে।
রাজশাহীর পবা উপজেলার বসন্তপুর গ্রামের পালপাড়ায় শখের হাঁড়ি রঙিন করতে রঙ তুলির আঁচড় চলছে ঘরে ঘরে। চারদিকে শখের হাঁড়ি, মুখোশ, মাটির পুতুল, সখিন পাখা তৈরির হিড়িক। রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের চারুকলাতেও চলছে বর্ষবরণের প্রস্তুতি। শিক্ষার্থীরা তৈরি করছেন কাগজের মুখোশসহ নানা শিল্পকর্ম।
দেশের বিভিন্ন বৈশাখী মেলায় পাঠাতে হবে এসব ঐতিহ্যবাহী মাটির তৈরি শখের হাঁড়ি, মুখোশ, পুতুল খেলনা, মাটির সানকি ইত্যাদি। 
মাটি আর রঙের গন্ধে এখন পালপাড়ায় সাজ সাজ রব। তারা ব্যস্ত থাকেন মাটির সানকি তৈরি ও শখের হাঁড়ির নক্সার কাজেও। মুখোশ তৈরিতেও এ পালদের সুনাম রয়েছে।
বৈশাখকে বরণ করতে রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের চারুকলা বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে ব্যাপক প্রস্তুতি শুরু হয়েছে। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রার জন্য শিক্ষার্থীরা তৈরি করছে নানা ধরনের রঙিন মুখোশ। কোলাহল বেড়েছে সেখানেও।

Four Years After Gadhafi, Libya Is a Failed State

Weapons are pouring out of Africa's most oil-rich country while extremist fighters tumble in

Nearly four years after NATO-backed rebels toppled the former Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, the North Africa country has plunged into chaotic unrest.

The failure of last year's election to achieve political unity in Libya was most evident when Fajr Libya, or "Libya Dawn"– a diverse coalition of armed groups that includes an array of Islamist militias – rejected the election's outcome and seized control of Tripoli. The internationally recognized government relocated to Tobruk, situated in eastern Libya along the Mediterranean coast near the Egyptian border, while Libya Dawn set up a rival government, known as the new General National Congress, in the capital.

As forces aligned with the Tobruk government have fought Libya Dawn, the conflict has gradually become internationalized. Egypt and the United Arab Emirates have launched air strikes targeting Libya Dawn, while Turkey, Qatar, and Sudan are believed to have provided the Islamist-dominated coalition with varying degrees of support.

The emergence of Daesh (the so-called "Islamic State") in strategically vital areas of Libya has further complicated the conflict in Africa's most oil-rich country and raised security concerns in nearby states.

Libya's Most Polarizing General

The mercurial general Khalifa Belqasim Haftar has emerged as an influential, yet highly divisive, leader in this bloody conflict.

In early March, the anti-Islamist general was appointed commander of the armed forces loyal to the Tobruk government. Haftar's role in the former Gaddafi regime, his cozy relationship with Washington, and suspicions about his long-term ambitions have given him a controversial reputation among many Libyans. Nonetheless, he's also gaining respect from those who share his vitriol for Islamists.

Haftar was an early Gaddafi loyalist, and played an important role as one of the "Free Officers" in the 1969 revolution that toppled the monarchy led by King Idris al-Sanusi. Gaddafi later said that Haftar "was my son… and I was like his spiritual father." It was the start of a military career in which Haftar fought on many different sides.

During the Arab-Israeli war of 1973, Haftar led a Libyan battalion. Later, as a commander of Libyan forces in the country's 1980-1987 war with Chad, he was allegedly responsible for war crimes when his forces were accused of using napalm and poison gas.

In 1987, the Chadian military scored a major victory in the battle of Wadi al-Doum. In addition to killing more than 1,000 Libyan forces, Chad took over 400 Libyans, including Haftar, as prisoners.

Around that time, Haftar's loyalties shifted.

While held in Chad, Haftar worked with other Libyan officers to coordinate a coup against Gaddafi, before the United States securedhis release – by airlifting him and 300 of his men to Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo), and from there to Virginia.

As a newly minted U.S. citizen, Haftar lived in northern Virginia from 1990 to 2011, spending part of this time working with the CIA before returning to Libya in March 2011 to fight once again against the Gaddafi regime. Several sources insist that Haftar was out of the CIA's hands by 2011, but others maintain that the US government orchestrated his return to Libya that year.

Libya's Civil War

Last year, Haftar called for the unilateral dissolution of Libya's parliament and the establishment of a "presidential committee" to rule the country until new elections were held. Haftar cited Libya's "upheaval" as justification for the armed forces to take over.

Many saw his act as an attempted military coup aimed at crushing the Muslim Brotherhood, which had won second place in Libya's 2012 elections. Prime Minister Ali Zeidan dismissed his announcement as "ridiculous".

Although many in Libya's government viewed him as a rogue general hungry for power, his ongoing campaign against Islamist forces has gradually won him supporters. Last May, Haftar waged a campaign called "Operation Dignity" to "eliminate extremist terrorist groups" in the country. Since then, the Tobruk-based government has by and large come to support the general, viewing him as the government's best bet in the struggle against its Islamist enemies.

Haftar's anti-Islamist crusade parallels that of Egyptian President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi, who is presiding over a crackdown on Egypt's Islamists. In making no distinction between so-called moderate Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood and hardline factions such as Daesh and Ansar al-Sharia (an al-Qaeda affiliate), Haftar and Sisi are both selling a narrative to the West that their anti-Islamist positions are in sync with the "global war on terror."

So far, Haftar has been unwilling to negotiate with Libya Dawn – which contains the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood's political wing and the "Loyalty to Martyrs" bloc within its coalition. In turn, Libya Dawn refuses to negotiate with Haftar.

The United Nations has begun hosting talks in Morocco between Libya's various political factions in an effort to unite them against the growing threat of Daesh. Unfortunately, the UN's efforts to push Libya's two governments toward dialogue is undermined by the low levels of trust between them, and their mutual belief that only through continued armed struggle can they secure more territory and resources. Indeed, with strong backing from Cairo and Abu Dhabi, Haftar is likely convinced that he can make greater gains through warfare than diplomacy.

The toxic legacy of Gaddafi's divisive and authoritarian regime, which pitted Libya's diverse factions against one another, has plagued the prospects for any central authority gaining widespread legitimacy in the war-torn country. Indeed, since he was overthrown in 2011, Libya has turned into a cauldron of anarchy, with little meaningful security existing outside of Tripoli and Benghazi.

Gaddafi's regime harshly oppressed the Islamist groups that went on to form Libya Dawn, which views its rise to power in Tripoli as hard fought and a long time in coming. They view Haftar as a war criminal from the ancien regime committed to their elimination, which will certainly undermine the potential for Libya's two governments to reach a meaningful power-sharing agreement. With no peace in sight, a continuation of the bloody stalemate between the Tobruk and Tripoli-based governments seems most likely.

International Implications of Libya's Turmoil

The fall of Gaddafi launched a geopolitical tsunami across Africa and into the Middle East.

Libya is now home to the world's largest loose arms cache, and its porous borders are routinely transited by a host of heavily armed non-state actors – including the Tuareg separatists and jihadists who forced Mali's national military from Timbuktu and Gao in March 2012 with newly acquired weapons from Libya. The UN has also documented the flow of arms from Libya into Egypt, Gaza, Niger,Somalia, and Syria.

Last October, 800 fighters loyal to Daesh seized control of Derna near the Egyptian border, some 200 miles from the European Union. Since then, Daesh's Libyan branch has taken control of Sirte and gained a degree of influence in Benghazi, the nation's second largest city and heart of the 2011 uprising against Gaddafi.

The group's use of Libyan territory to terrorize and threaten other states has raised the international stakes. In February, Daeshbeheaded 21 migrant workers from Egypt because they were Coptic Christians, then released a propaganda video containing footage of the heinous act. That lured Egypt into waging direct air strikes against the group's targets in Derna.

Last November, Ansar Bait al-Maqdis – the dominant jihadist group in the Egyptian Sinai – pledged allegiance to Daesh, as did Nigeria'sBoko Haram more recently. Daesh has also made direct threatsagainst Italy, prompting officials in Rome to warn that Italy's military may intervene in Libya to counter Daesh's fighters.

One quarter of Daesh's fighters in Derna come from other Arab countries and Afghanistan. A major influx of Jabhat al-Nusra fighters from Syria have also entered the fray in Libya, underscoring how Islamist extremists from lands far away have exploited Libya's status as a failed state. This development was most recently underscored when a Sudanese member of Daesh's Libya division carried out a suicide attack on April 5th, which targeted a security checkpoint near Misrata. The bloody incident resulted in four deaths and over 20 injuries.

The number of weak or failing states across Africa suggests that such international networks will continue to take advantage of frail central authorities and lawlessness throughout the extremely underdeveloped Sahel and other areas of the continent to spread their influence. In the absence of any political resolution to its civil war, Libya in particular – as a failed state with mountainous oil reserves – will remain vulnerable to extremist forces hoping to seize power amidst the ongoing morass.

৭ এপ্রিল অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশের সেশাচলম জঙ্গলে একই দিনে ২০ জন মারা গেছে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ স্পেশ্যাল টাস্ক ফোর্সের গুলিতে। নিরাপত্তারক্ষীদের বয়ানে, মৃতরা সবাই ওই জঙ্গলে দুষ্প্রাপ্য লাল চন্দন কাঠ কেটে চোরাপাচার করছিল, হাতে নাতে ধরা পড়ে যাবার পর তারা আত্মসমর্পনের বদলে নিরাপত্তারক্ষীদের চ্যালেঞ্জ করে পাথর, ছুরি নিয়ে আক্রমণ করে; প্রায় দেড়শো জনের আত্মসমর্পনের মুখে পড়ে পুলিশ গুলি চালায় এবং তাতে দুটি পৃথক এলাকায় মোট ২০ জন মারা যায়; বাকিরা পলাতক।
কিন্তু ঘটনার কয়েক দিন পর তামিলনাড়ুর তিরুভান্নামালাই জেলার মুরুগাপাণ্ডি গ্রামের এক জনমজুর শেখরের নাম ভেসে আসে সংবাদমাধ্যমে। শেখর কাইতাকামাল জানায়, তারা আটজন ঘটনার দিন বাসে করে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশে কাজের খোঁজে যাচ্ছিল, যেমন তারা যায়। কিন্তু সেদিন অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ এবং তামিলনাড়ুর সীমান্তে চিত্তুর জেলার নাগারির কাছে বাস পৌঁছলে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ পুলিশ ঢুকে সাতজন জনমজুরকে তুলে নিয়ে যায়। সে একটু আলাদা বসেছিল তার বৌ-এর সঙ্গে, তাই তাকে মজুর বলে চিনতে পারেনি, তাই সে বেঁচে যায়। পরের বাসস্টপে নেমে সে ফিরে আসে নিজের গ্রামে। তিরুভান্নামালাই এবং ভেলোর জেলার গ্রামে গ্রামে এই কথা লোকের মুখে মুখে ফিরছে। শেখর তার পরিবার সহ পলাতক।
ঘটনাস্থলটি লোকালয় থেকে প্রায় দশ কিলোমিটার দূরে জঙ্গলের মধ্যে। সেখানে ঘটনার পরে যাওয়া সংবাদমাধ্যমের প্রতিনিধিদের মতে, ছুরি বাদে আর কোনো অস্ত্র পাওয়া যায়নি, দেহগুলিও পড়েছিল দশ-বারো ফিট ব্যবধানে, আশেপাশের গাছে কোনো বুলেটের চিহ্ন পাওয়া যায়নি। চন্দন গাছের মাত্র ২০টি শাখা পাওয়া গেছে। ফলে পুলিশ যেমন বলেছিল, প্রায় শ'দেড়েক লোক আক্রমণ করেছে, তাদের সবার হাতে চন্দন গাছের কাটা অংশ ছিল — তা ঠিক নয়। লাশগুলির হাতে, বুকে, মুখে খুব কাছ থেকে করা গুলির চিহ্ন পাওয়া গেছে। এমনকি পোড়ার দাগ অবদি পাওয়া গেছে, যা অত্যাচারের চিহ্ন। সব মিলিয়ে সংঘর্ষের কোনো যুক্তিগ্রাহ্য প্রমাণ দেখা যায়নি। বরং সাজানো সংঘর্ষের গল্প ফাঁদা হয়েছে, আসলে ধরে নিয়ে অত্যাচারের পর জঙ্গলে ঠাণ্ডা মাথায় মেরে দেওয়া হয়েছে — এমনই সম্ভবনা। সাজানো ঘটনার ইঙ্গিত জোরালো হওয়ায় তাকে রোখার জন্য অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ পুলিশ একটি ভিডিও প্রকাশ করে, যাতে দেখা যায়, জঙ্গলের মধ্যে বহু লোক ঘোরাফেরা করছে। তবে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশের রাজনৈতিক দল সিপিআই-এর এক নেতা দাবি করেছেন, এই ভিডিওটি ভুয়ো — সেটি মামানদুর জঙ্গল থেকে এপ্রিল মাসের প্রথম সপ্তাহে তোলা ভিডিও।
এরই মধ্যে জাতীয় মানবাধিকার কমিশন এবং অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ ও মাদ্রাজ হাইকোর্ট পুলিশের বিরুদ্ধে হত্যার মামলা করার নির্দেশ দিয়েছে সরকারকে। সেই আদেশের বিরোধিতা করে সুপ্রিম কোর্টে গেছে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ সরকার। তামিলনাড়ু সরকার অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ সরকারের সমালোচনা করেছে। সারা তামিলনাড়ু জুড়ে তামিল দিনমজুরদের এই হত্যার বিরুদ্ধে দফায় দফায় বিক্ষোভ চলছে।

Mobilizing Against Dictatorship and US imperialism in Haiti

When he was president, Bill Clinton, destroyed Haiti local agriculture with US unfair trade and foreign "aid" by dumping big-agro, subsidized Arkansas rice into Haiti. Then, when he wanted to steal Haiti's mining wealth and the earthquake funds, he casually APOLOGIZED for Washington costing Haiti 850,000 rural jobs and ushering in Clorox hunger, famine and the slums of Site Soley. His wife, simultaneous to Bill's apology brought in Monsanto seeds to further destroy and benefit big US agribusiness plunder in Haiti…Besides bringing in famine to make the people weak with hunger, the US destroyed the Haitian people's native livestock to replace it with Iowa livestock. Simply slaughtered 1.3 million Haiti Kreyòl pigs to deliberately make Haiti poorer, sicker, more desperate and dependent on false charity NGOs. That's US philanthropy! We've been writing about it for decades. Except the embedded media hypes up the Tarzan-Sean Penn-Jake Sully Avatar narrative on Haiti. Needless to say, it's tough to compete with mega Hollywood productions of Haiti's reality. Recently, Hillary Clinton took a leaf from Bill's book and APOLOGIZED for wiping clean her email server.

On March 31, 2015, Haiti militants and Haitian Americans and justice solidarity networks, held a press conference to say to  Hillary Clinton that the apologies are not accepted, and to demand that the US authorities make every effort to prosecute Hillary Clinton for obstruction of justice and racketeering. Haitians have already file suit in Haiti requesting an accounting from Bill Clinton and the members of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission on the whereabouts of over $10 billion collected for Haiti quake victims.  Haiti activists continually hold protests, both abroad and in Haiti.

The March 31, 2015 KOMOKODA-"Committee to Mobilize Against Dictatorship in Haiti"– protest was held outside Hillary Clinton's offices in New York. The justice seekers spoke about the Hillary email scandal, against her candidacy in 2016 for US president and to demand her prosecution. Bill and Hillary know, in terms of their racism and fraud in the Black community, that all they have to do is rent-a-Haiti-negro (like Gerald Latorture, Jean Max Bellerive, Gary Conille, Laurent Lamothe or Michel Martelly and his ilks) to grin next to them and "accept Bill Clinton's apology" for bringing genocide to Haiti, more mass incarceration in US, destruction in the Congo, Rwanda, et al… Think this through, the US occupation of Haiti brings cholera to Haiti that kills, in just three years, over 10,000 people and infects 850,000. But, the fundraising-on-Haiti-deaths Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti (IJDH-white saviors) marginalize HLLN's Haiti narrative on the matter, and like Paul Farmer and Jim Yong Kim convinced their cohorts that they represent Haiti's best interests.

IJDH crafted a cholera response for the disenfranchise Haiti masses and finally a lawsuit, without calling the respondiat superior to the table, but that begs for Black absolution by asking for a UN-Clintonesque apology for bringing cholera to Haiti. Here's a few more such fake apologies the white liberals and conservatives in the white supremacist's system think up and another Black woman answers them. In "Dear White Racists, Apology Not Accepted!" Stacey Patton gets Ezili on it, and writes:

"My name is not "Mammy," and I'm not here to soothe you….White racists, your apologies—no matter how frequent or varied—are NOT accepted…Don't come asking me about forgiveness. I ain't the one, boo. Do you see an Ike Turner sign on my forehead that says: "Come all ye KKK, rednecks, and closeted racists liberals and disrespect me all the days of my life on earth because White Jesus loves me and heaven lasts forever?" What kind of negress do you think I am?

"I will not grant you the Black forgiveness that feeds into respectability politics. I am not one of those "Good Negroes" who will sacrifice themselves to uphold the status quo. I will not sustain this charade. I will not play my part in this heinous masquerade that privileges your people and denigrates mine. I will not support the continuing dishonesty and disrespect of people on both sides, and be the sustenance of this White supremacist monster that stomps all over the dignity of my people and keeps the scales tilted in your favor no matter what you say, what you do, or how you try to excuse it."—Stacey Patton, Dear White Racists, Apology Not Accepted!

No Hillary! Haiti is not for sale to your family. Haiti riches are public assets to be used to elevate the collective economic standards of local Haitians, not your brother!

Foreign earthquake aid to Haiti was put into the World Bank and divvied up by the Clintons and the Bushes. On top of this, Haiti's gold, copper, silver and oil assets were auctioned off to big businesses and nations donating to the Clinton Foundation.

The George W. Bush, Jr. administration first brought in the US military occupation outsourced to the United Nations as peacekeepers in 2004. This force helped to take down Haiti's democratically elected government and since that time Haiti has been ruled under a veiled US military occupation, hidden behind UN guns, Paul Farmer NGOs, the World Bank and other Breton Woods institutions.

Haiti was the first place in the Western Hemisphere where the Europeans and their white settlers started their slave trade in 1503. For 300 years the Africans who would become Haitian in Ayiti were subjected to the greatest European terror and barbaric slavery the world had ever known. Our Ancestors won our freedom, in combat, in a vicious-Rochambeau 13-year war against the enslaving French, Spanish, English, their private military mercenaries and a US embargo. So, no Hillary, your BROTHER cannot have our lands, our mines, our gold, our oil, our uranium, our labor, our wealth. Desalin's lands and wealth are the property of Desalin's descendants, not yours Hillary! Haiti is not for sale Bill Clinton!

Tiny Haiti, which is as small as Rhode Island, was forced to pay an Independence Debt, ten (10) times the amount William Jefferson paid to Napoleon for the 13 US States that were carved from the Louisiana Purchase. The Africans in Haiti have paid and paid and paid for these mountains, rivers, seas, lands, offshore islands and all that they contain.

We paid the Independence Debt for 122 years. First to the French and then, after 1914, this slave-trade debt was paid, by Haitians, as reparations to the United States of America until 1947.

Neither Hillary nor Bill Clinton nor the World Bank have any right to create laws for the Haitian people in any areas whatsoever.

Especially not to benefit their families and rich friends. Emails from the Clintons to the UN and World Bank, regarding Haiti mining resources and quake funds, collected by the World Bank under Bill and Hillary Clinton's supervision, should be made public.

Deleting these emails doesn't only obstruct the US citizenry's view of Hillary Clinton's dealings while she was Obama's Secretary of State, but it continues to hide the US occupation of Haiti behind UN guns and NGO false benevolence.

It hides the World Bank's role and pillaging complicity and the UN and the Clinton Foundation's role in this imperial enterprise and colonial destruction and plunders in Haiti.

Haiti is an international crime scene for the masses. But it serves as a fiscal paradise for the United States' richest families and the well-connected global oligarchy.

In the eleven year of its occupation in Haiti, the US has brought in cholera, then gone to court to claim its neutrality and to defend immunity for its UN employees.

It's brought in dictatorship and the resource pillage we see in the news today where Hillary Clinton's brother, Anthony Rodham, was given one of two rare mining permits to take Haiti's untold billions in gold. This was done without the Haitian public's participation or consent and it's renewable for 25 years at the lowest 2.5 royalty rate in the Western Hemisphere.

Why hasn't this US invasion, quiet genocide and colonial plunder, provoked international outrage? Or, at least the same public scrutiny as the debacle over Secretary Clinton using a private email server to conduct State Department business and then wiping the server clean?

The US outsourced military operations in Haiti circumvents and violates US Congressional War Powers Act and international laws of nations since February 29, 2004. You would think the mainstream pundits calling for the prosecution of Hillary Clinton over the private server irregularities would also be concerned that the Clintons deliberately created an environment for more death, disease and poverty in Haiti while enriching Wall Street? Would be concerned that the US is circumventing international law by using the UN as its military front, the World Bank as its economic front and the poverty-pimping NGOs as its administrative fronts to conduct its 21 century colonial invasion, effectively expropriating Haiti lands, offshore islands, gold and oil riches?

Dessalines' Law
Article 36-5 of the 1987 Haiti Constitution and other relevant Haiti law, forbids foreign ownership of Haiti mines, coastal properties, springs, rivers, water courses, mines and quarries. Haiti law forbids exploitation of Haiti resources without public participation and approval. These are public assets of the nation. Mining exploration may not be allowed without public participation, legal and parliamentary approval. There can be no legal contracts made in Haiti while the people are under US occupation and Haitians are not free.

US imperialism in Haiti did not begin with the Clintons, but under the Obama administration, Bill and Hillary Clinton brought the World Bank into the UN, not only to collect Haiti quake funds that mostly never reached Haiti, but the World Bank was used as the Clinton/Obama front to unilaterally amend Haiti's mining laws to benefit Wall Street, the Clintonites and their foreign affiliates without Haiti public participation or Haiti legal approval. Let it clearly be heard, that all actions forced on Haiti and all contracts entered into in the name of the Haitian people while Haiti is under this US multinational occupation are a violation of basic human rights and international rights' laws.

1. A career UN employee named Gerald Latorture, living in Boca Raton Florida and chosen by US officials, was the one to sign the Status of Force Agreement, known as the SOFA, which is the US-negotiated, UN agreement that brought in this military occupation to Haiti. The SOFA agreement was illegal in 2004. It's illegal today.

2. Hillary Clinton's emails would provide a wealth of evidence about the US foreign aid scam and resource plundering racket in Haiti.

For instance, Haitian-Americans would like to view Secretary Clinton's emails to World Bank president Jim Yong Kim and to UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and to the South Korean executives at Sae-A, – the anchor tenant running the Caracol sweatshop up in Haiti's North. We believe this critical information would help reveal the nefarious uses of philanthropy to enrich the wealthy Clintons off the back of local Haitians. Haitians are dying from the terror of US imperialism.

Hillary Clinton Cannot Delete the Caracol Scam in Haiti

The Caracol Industrial Park, the Clintons' flagship reconstruction project in Haiti, is nowhere near the earthquake zone in the South. Caracol was built in Northern Haiti's gold and resource belt. A mere nine (9) miles away from the copper and gold mining operations being fought over by the world oligarchs.

The 25,000 units of housing that was to be built for quake victims went down to 2600 while the price tag went up from $53 million to $90 million. Two contractors on the project have been suspended. Five-years later, there's only 750 shoddily built units completed.

At the Hollywood star studded inauguration of the Caracol Industrial Park in 2012, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced to built Haiti back better with Caracol housing that would be "affordable homes with clean running water, flush toilets, and reliable electricity… built to resist hurricanes and earthquakes." The housing for the quake victims at the Caracol complex are flooding, the roofs leak and the drinking water lines to the houses are crossed with the sewage lines. Obviously the luxury housing for foreigners, living at five-star hotels and gated Caracol and Port au Prince communities, built with the Clintons' earthquake funds, do not experience these horrendous USAID/Clinton era construction "mistakes."

Also, knowing full well the international market would not support it, has not supported garment factory economies in the Western Hemisphere when China will accept much less labor costs, the Clintons touted themselves qualified to do Haiti "recovery" because they would use their presidential connections to bring in 20,000 new Northern Industrial Park jobs in garment, textile and other fields by 2014.

It's 2015. There are less than 1500 jobs at Caracol. The women garment workers have been holding protests for over a year because even the lowest (61 cents per hour) minimum wage in the Western Hemisphere that Haiti was forced to agree to by the Clintons, have not been paid to the Haiti women workers. The Sae-A South Korean industrialists brought in by the Obama Administration are well known in other countries for worker abuse.

Haitians at Ezili's Haitian Lawyers Leadership Network exposed, years ago, that the Caracol flagship reconstruction project is not about bringing sustainable jobs to Haitians. It's a cover for the Clintons and World Bank executives and their investors to use earthquake funds to build infrastructure for Clinton Foundation mining magnates and financiers.

Haitians at Caracol and surrounding areas have no reliable electricity, sewage system or clean water infrastructure. But the Clinton's South Korean industrialists and other foreigners imported to Haiti at Caracol have all the amenities not provided to Haitians in the gated communities where they live in Haiti. Haitians at nearby Fort Liberte are protesting the community's inability to benefit from the same electricity the foreigners do.

3. Justice demands that the impunity of these legal bandits privatizing Haiti foreign quake funds from other donor countries and carting off Haiti natural resources behind this illegal occupation are stopped.

4. The US outsourced military operations in Haiti circumvents and violates US Congressional War Powers Act and international laws of nations.

The three questions Haitians ask US citizens to consider are:

What's so important in Haiti that the US would built its fourth largest embassy in the world there, while funding a UN proxy occupation force for over 11-years now?

Haiti has the lowest crime rate and the lowest prison population rate in the Caribbean it not the entire Western Hemisphere. The Dominican Republic has FOUR times more violence than Haiti. Why is the UN not bringing stability to the more violent DR? Or, in Brazil, Detroit, Washington DC, Jamaica, Mexico, Bahamas – all with greater violence than Haiti?

Why is there a UN, Chapter 7 shoot-to-kill "peace enforcement" mission in Haiti for over 11 years? A country not at war, without a peace agreement to enforce and with less violence than most countries in the Western Hemisphere? Why is there a UN Chapter 7 shoot-to kill "peace enforcement" mission in a country not at war and with the lowest crime rate in the Caribbean?

Haiti has trillions of dollars in natural resources – gold, oil, natural gas, iridium, copper, et al– why does Haiti need Obama/Bush/Clinton's meager 41cent an hour sweatshop jobs or US charity (false aid) with so much of its own resources to develop the local economy?

Eritrean's president has kicked the U.S. NGOs out of Eritrea. The tactics of President Afwerki of Eritrea defies the US and its imperialist policies toward Africa. All African Heads of State need to kick out the NGO charitable industrial complex and design their own reforms by themselves for their own implementation and independence.

President Isaias Afwerki says African mineral resources are not sustainable for economic development in the immediacy. Developing infrastructure for this will take generations to come. Comparative advantage are of greater immediate importance. "Your location could be a comparative advantage. If you have a long coastline, then you develop fisheries, develop your services industry – shipping, transportation – air, land. Provide industry and manufacturing."

"Africa can produce its own food and grow more. Why aren't we able to do that?" You have to produce something. Emphasize sustainable sectors. Agriculture is a sustainable sector. You need to put in place agriculture infrastructure. It's a strategy commodity for communities.

"You need to think least on mineral resources (for economic development)… Gold glitters but it blinds people…If you forgo agriculture because you have gold, you go into a trap. If you forgo comparative advantage that you have because you have gold, then you make a big mistake."

Food sovereignty and local production, local manufacturing and development are more critical than depending on resource exploitation. You must have a balance, comprehensive program that takes stock of your comparative advantages in different sectors and local needs first.

On Western Fake Elections and Fake Democracy

President Afwerki points to special interests groups that want to take resources unjustly. He says they have global networks and allies. They control the world by proxy. It's the Nixon doctrine. The US cannot overstretch, so it has to control nations through agents. "When people don't confirm to their policies, they're targeted."

"The special interests believe they can control the world…This small minority controls everything…(They're) vultures.""

(From 30:14  through to 36:15 on the video), President Isaias Afwerki makes critical points on the West's fake elections and fake democracy. He talks about this small globalist minority that controls everything. They control elections and have totally undermined and abused the concept of democracy. The majority of these special interests stakeholders, he says, are in the oil industry, manufacturing industry, technology industry. He says they even control of our minds through media, culture and schools of learning institutions.

"99% of the people of the United States are victims of the special interests, and maybe more… What does democracy mean to people, what does representation mean to people… I don't exaggerate if I say that the most undemocratic nation on earth is the United States…. It's a controlled democracy. It's anarchic totalitarianism. Anarchy for a small minority- the special interests. But it's totalitarian. It's totalitarian because they control everything. They control the economy, they control resources, they control the lives of human beings. They control almost everything: culture, social life of human beings. They control everything."

Erosion of values…They have undermined and abused the concept of democracy

Do you need lobbyists? Do you need corporations to come and finance? (Elections), it's a joke in the United States -Democrats and Republicans. Soros financing the Democrats. Someone else financing the Republicans. And when you know the inside story of how this is manipulated. It's very sad. That these value of representation of the people have been undermined by their tactics. It's become a norm now. It's not in only the United States."

"We're not talking about elections from your (the special interest) perspectives. There has to be a genuine representative for the people. If you live in a community, the community will have to elect the people who manage the affairs of the community. Without that you cannot live as a community. And that's a basic requirement for a nation building… If you buy votes, is that representation? … If one percent of the population is the percentage that has everything; and if money is elections, then one percent will buy the votes of 99%. The end result represents one percent of the population. Ok?… We can't put aside this issue. It's a critical issue…"

We aren't allowed to survive without their (the special interests) blessings. This state of affairs will have to change by allowing people to freely have their own representative bodies. They have totally eroded and compromised the basic values that should have governed the lives of human beings. Now, when they're doing this, this is part of their culture. They talk as if they uphold (democratic) values. They don't like these values at all."

'লজ্জা' লিখেছি তেইশ বছর আগে। এখনও লজ্জার ঘটনা ঘটছে বাংলাদেশে। যুদ্ধাপরাধী কামারুজ্জামানের ফাঁসি হওয়ার পর তাঁর সৈন্যসামন্ত হিন্দু মন্দিরগুলোয় হামলা চালাচ্ছে। বরগুনা আর বাগেরহাটের মন্দিরে ইতিমধ্যেই ভাংচুর করেছে। কিছু হিন্দু বাড়ি লুঠ করেছে। এরপর হয়তো বাড়িঘর পুড়িয়ে দেওয়ার খবর পাবো, ধর্ষণের খবরও পাবো। এরপর যে খবরটা পাবো না, সেটা হলো হিন্দুদের দেশত্যাগ। হিন্দু সংখ্যা কমতে কমতে শূন্যে এসে ঠেকলে হয়তো শুনবো। তখন বিস্মিত হবো না। বিস্মিত হতে হতে এখন আর কোনও কিছুতেই বিস্মিত হই না।

১. পাকিস্তানি সেনারা বাংলাদেশে নৃশংস হত্যাকাণ্ড চালিয়েছে। তিরিশ লক্ষ মানুষকে খুন করেছে আর দু'লক্ষ মেয়েকে ধর্ষণ করেছে। ভারতীয় সেনাবাহিনীর উচিত ছিল ওই বর্বর খুনীধর্ষকদের শাস্তির ব্যবস্থা করা। 
২. রাজাকার, আলবদর, আলশামস--যারা লুটপাট করায়, সন্ত্রাস সৃষ্টি করায়, ধর্ষণ করায়, ঘর বাড়ি জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়ায়, মানুষ হত্যায় পাকিস্তানি সেনাদের সাহায্য করেছিলো--যুদ্ধ শেষ হওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে ওদের বিচার করা উচিত ছিল। 
৩. যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের জন্য 'সাধারণ ক্ষমা'ঘোষণা করাটা উচিত ছিল না। 
৪. যুদ্ধপরাধীদের যাবজ্জীবন হওয়া উচিত ছিল। ওই দীর্ঘ সময়ে ওরা নিজেকে শুদ্ধ করার সুযোগ পেত। ওদের শোধরানোর ব্যবস্থা রাষ্ট্র থেকেও করা উচিত ছিল। 
৫. ধর্মভিত্তিক রাজনীতি চিরকালের জন্য নিষিদ্ধ করা উচিত ছিল। জামাতে ইসলামি এবং অন্য কোনও ধর্মভিত্তিক রাজনৈতিক দল যেন কোনও কারণেই ধর্মকে ব্যবহার করে রাজনীতি করার সুযোগ আর না পায়। 
৬. শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের উচিত ছিল না বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার পর ১৯৭৪ সালে পাকিস্তানে ওআইসি (অরগানাইজেশন অব ইসলামিক কোঅপারেশন) সম্মেলনে যোগ দেওয়া। বরং সেক্যুলার আদর্শে তাঁর দৃঢ় থাকা উচিত ছিল। 
৭. শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের উচিত ছিল না বাকশাল গঠন করা এবং সব রাজনৈতিক দলকে বাতিল ঘোষণা করা। 
৮. কারও উচিত ছিল না শেখ মুজিবকে হত্যা করা এবং সেনাবাহিনীর লোককে ক্ষমতায় বসানো। 
৯. উচিত ছিল না ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ সংবিধানকে বদলানো, বিসমিল্লাহ বসানো। 
১০.উচিত ছিল না সেক্যুলার সংবিধানকে ধর্ষণ করা। রাষ্ট্রধর্ম আনা। 
১১. উচিত ছিল না রাজাকারদের প্রেসিডেন্ট বানানো। মন্ত্রী বানানো। সংসদ সদস্য বানানো। 
১২. উচিত ছিল না মহল্লা মহল্লায় মসজিদ বানানো এবং মসজিদ চালাবার দায়িত্ব পাকিস্তানপন্থী রাজাকারপন্থী জিহাদপন্থী মুসলিম মৌলবাদীদের হাতে ছেড়ে দেওয়া। 
১৩. উচিত ছিল না কচুরিপানার মত মাদ্রাসায় ছেয়ে ফেলা দেশ। মাদ্রাসাগুলোকে মৌলবাদীর আঁতুরঘর যেন মোটেও না বানানো হয়, উচিত ছিল সতর্ক থাকা। 
১৪. রোধ করা উচিত ছিল মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের মৌলবাদীদের অর্থে বাংলাদেশের ইসলামিকরণ, ওয়াহাবিকরণ। 
১৫. বন্ধ করা উচিত ছিল সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতন। উচিত ছিল সংখ্যালঘুদের জন্য কঠোর নিরাপত্তার ব্যবস্থা করা। 
ওপরের তালিকায় আরও উচিত ছিল এবং উচিত ছিল না যোগ হতে পারে। আপাতত ওটুকুই ভেবেছি। ৪৪ বছর অনেকগুলো বছর। এতগুলো বছরে একাত্তরের বাংলাদেশ-বিরোধী ইসলামি-মৌলবাদী শক্তি দেশটাকে প্রায় পুরোটাই নষ্ট করে ফেলেছে। ওই অপশক্তিকে ইন্ধন জুগিয়ে গেছে শাসকগোষ্ঠী। দেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার পর যারা গর্তে লুকিয়েছিল, আজ তারা দেশের বিশাল এক রাজনৈতিক শক্তি, তাদের তৈরি ধর্মান্ধ সন্ত্রাসী সৈনিকে দেশ আজ টইটম্বুর। এই দেশটাকে শুদ্ধ করতে আরও কত ৪৪ বছরের দরকার হবে কে জানে। 
কাল ফাঁসি হয়েছে আলবদর নেতা যুদ্ধাপরাধী কামারুজ্জামানের। কামারুজ্জামানের ফাঁসি হওয়ার পর বাংলাদেশের কি কোনও পরিবর্তন হবে? জামাতির সন্ত্রাস বন্ধ হবে?শিবিরের হত্যাকাণ্ড থামবে? হুমায়ুন আজাদরা আক্রান্ত হবেন না? অভিজিৎরা আর খুন হবেন না? ওয়াশিকুরদের কেউ মারবে না? এর উত্তরে যে কেউ বলবে, হত্যাকাণ্ড চলতেই থাকবে। আমিও জানি চলতেই থাকবে।

অনেকে ভুল করে, ক্ষমা চায়, নিজেকে শোধরায়। আমার খুব জানতে ইচ্ছে করে কামারুজ্জামান কি নিজের ভুল বুঝতে পেরেছিলেন? যদি একবারও ভাবতেন যে তিনি একাত্তরে অন্যায় করেছিলেন, তবে তিনি আর যাই করতেন, জামাতে ইসলামির মতো একটা সন্ত্রাসী দলের নেতা হতেন না। বাংলাদেশের যে ছেলেমেয়েরা প্রতিদিন সন্ত্রাস দেখতে দেখতে ক্লান্ত, তারা মরিয়া হয়ে উঠেছে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের ফাঁসি দিতে। আমার মনে হয় রাগটা যত না ৪৪ বছর আগের সন্ত্রাসের জন্য, তার চেয়ে বেশি এখনকার সন্ত্রাসের জন্য, কামরুজ্জামানের শিষ্যরা যে সন্ত্রাস বুক ফুলিয়ে করছে। আর মানুষ বাধ্য হচ্ছে ঘোর অনিশ্চয়তা আর নিরাপত্তাহীনতার মধ্যে বাস করতে। মৌলবাদী সন্ত্রাসীরা ধর্মমুক্ত মানুষদের অনেক বছর যাবৎ ঠাণ্ডা মাথায় হত্যা করছে। সন্ত্রাস- বিরোধী-শক্তি যেহেতু হাতে চাপাতি নিয়ে ঘুরে বেড়ায় না, তারা রাষ্ট্রকে চাপ দিয়ে দুএকটা মৃত্যুদণ্ড ঘটায়। 
যথেষ্ট খুনোখুনি হলো। বাংলাদেশের মানুষ এবার পেছনে কবে কী করেছিলো ভুলে এখন কে কী করছে সেটা দেখুক। এখন থেকে যেন জামাতিরা কোনও সন্ত্রাস, কোনও রগ কাটা, গলা কাটা, বোমা ছোড়া--কিছুই করতে না পারে। এ কথাও মনে রাখতে হবে যে, মাদ্রাসা মসজিদের আতংকবাদী রাজনীতি আর অশ্লীল ওয়াজ মাহফিলগুলো বন্ধ না করলে শুধু কামারুজ্জামানদের মেরে কোনও ফল পাওয়া যাবে না।

দেশটাকে ভালো করতে হলে দেশটার গলায় ছাগলের দড়ি বেঁধে ছেড়ে দিলে হয় না। দেশটাকে দেখে দেখে রাখতে হয়। দেশটার পেছনে প্রচুর সময় দিতে হয়। দেশ বলতে তো মানুষ। মানুষের জন্য কাজ করতে হয়। মানুষের জন্য সুশিক্ষা আর সুস্বাস্থ্যর ব্যবস্থা করতে হয়। দারিদ্র ঘোচাতে হয়, জীবন যাপনের মান বাড়াতে হয়। কুসংস্কার, ধর্মান্ধতা, মৌলবাদ, সন্ত্রাস থেকে মানুষকে নিরাপদ দূরত্বে রাখতে হয়। দূর্নীতিমুক্ত সমাজ তৈরি করতে হয়। অসাম্প্রদায়িক সংস্কৃতিকে চারদিকে ছড়িয়ে দিতে হয়। ধর্মভিত্তিক শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা এবং ধর্মভিত্তিক রাজনীতি—এসব যেহেতু সমাজের ধ্বংস ডেকে আনে, এগুলো থেকে সমাজকে মুক্ত করতে হয়। শেখাতে হয় ধর্ম মানে হিজাব বোরখা টুপি জোব্বা নয়, ধর্ম মানে মানবতা। ধর্ম মানে মসজিদ মাদ্রাসা নয়, ধর্ম মানে মানবতা। ধর্ম মানে পাঁচবেলা নামাজ আর একমাস রোজা নয়, ধর্ম মানে মানবতা। ধর্ম মানে অন্য ধর্মকে ঘৃণা করা নয়, ধর্ম মানে মানবতা। ধর্ম মানে ধর্মে-অবিশ্বাসীদের হত্যা করা নয়, ধর্ম মানে মানবতা। আর সব কিছুর মতো ধর্মেরও বিবর্তন ঘটে। ১৪০০ বছর ধরে ইসলাম যদি এক জায়গায় স্থির দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে, তাহলে এ নিশ্চয়ই বিষম দুশ্চিন্তার বিষয়। ধর্মের বিবর্তন আপনাআপনি হয় না, এটিকে হওয়াতে হয়। হওয়ায় ওই ধর্ম যারা পালন করে, তারা। ইসলামের বিবর্তনে বাধা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ধুরন্দর মুসলিমরা, যারা এই ধর্মকে অবিবর্তিত অপরিবর্তিত অবস্থায় রেখে দিতে চায় এটি নিয়ে ব্যবসা করার জন্য, এটির অপব্যবহার করার জন্য, এটি নিয়ে সন্ত্রাস করার জন্য, এটিকে রাজনীতি ব্যবহার করার জন্য। এরাই এই ধর্মের মূল শত্রু। এদের কারণে ইসলাম একটি 'অমানবিক ধর্ম'হিসেবে চিহ্নিত হচ্ছে। খ্রিস্টান ধর্ম বা ইহুদি ধর্ম কম অমানবিক নয়, কিন্তু বিবর্তিত হয়েছে বলে আজ এই ধর্মগুলোকে মানবিক বলে মনে হয়। ইসলামের পরিবর্তন ছাড়া এখন আর উপায় নেই। হয় তলিয়ে যাও ধর্মান্ধতায়, নয় উঠে দাঁড়াও, শক্ত হাতে হাল ধরো, সমাজকে শুদ্ধ করো, রাষ্ট্রকে ধর্মমুক্ত করো। ধর্ম দিয়ে যে যুগে রাষ্ট্র চালানো হতো – সে যুগকে বলা হয় 'অন্ধকার যুগ'। মানুষকে এখন যে কোনও একটি বেছে নিতে হবে-- অন্ধকার যুগের দিকে ফিরে যাওয়া, অথবা সামনে সম্ভাবনা বা আলোর দিকে যাওয়া।

কামারুজ্জামানের ফাঁসি হয়ে বাংলাদেশের কী লাভ হয়েছে? কামারুজ্জামান ছিলেন ৬২ বছর বয়সের এক বৃদ্ধ। তিনি যৌবনেই যত অপকর্ম আছে করে ফেলেছেন। তাঁকে চার দশকের চেয়েও বেশি সময় দেওয়া হয়েছে অপকর্ম করার জন্য। তিনি একাত্তরে যত অন্যায় করেছেন, যত ক্ষতি করেছেন দেশের, তার চেয়েও বেশি করেছেন একাত্তরের পরে। তিনি দেশের নিরীহ ছেলেমেয়েদের মগজধোলাই করেছেন ইসলাম দিয়ে, আর বিশাল এক ধর্মান্ধ খুনীবাহিনী তৈরি করেছেন। তাঁর খুনীবাহিনীই আজ লেখক অভিজিৎ রায়কে খুন করে, তাঁর খুনীবাহিনীই আজ ব্লগার ওয়াশিকুর বাবুকে খুন করে। এক কামারুজ্জামান মরে গেছেন, লক্ষ কামারুজ্জামান আজ বাংলার ঘরে ঘরে।

খুব সাবধান বাংলাদেশ, বাঁচতে চাও তো চাপাতি ছুড়ে ফেলো, ফাঁসির দড়ি ছিড়ে ফেলো, শুভবুদ্ধি জাগাও সবার মধ্যে।

उखु किसानद्वारा प्रदर्शन

चिनी मिलले आफूहरूलाई उखुको मूल्य नदिएको भन्दै सुनसरी र मोरङका किसानहरूले आइतबार यहाँ प्रदर्शन गरेका छन् । इस्टर्न सुगर मिलले चार महिना बित्दासमेत उखुको भुक्तानी नगरेको भन्दै दुई जिल्लाका किसानले प्रदर्शन गरेका हुन् । हाट खोलामा भेला भएका सयौं किसान हातमा उखुका बोट बोकेर प्रदर्शनमा सहभागी भएका थिए । उनीहरूले मोरङका प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी गणेशराज कार्कीलाई ज्ञापनपत्र बुझाएका छन् । 

'चिनी मिलाई १२ सय क्विन्टल उखु दिएको चार महिना भयो, एक पैसा पाएको छैन,' किसान जयनाथ मण्डलले भने, 'खेती लगाउँदा र उठाउँदा श्रीमतीका गहनासमेत धरौटी राख्नुपर्‍यो, त्यतिले नभएर जग्गा धितो राखेर सयकडा पाँचका दरले ब्याजमा पैसा लिनुपरेको छ ।' यस्तै हो भने उखुवाट फाइदा हैन उल्टै घाटा हुने उनले बताए । जुलुसमा सहभागी भएका गणेश रायले भने, 'आज उखु खेती गर्नु भनेको अपराध गर्नुजस्तै भयो ।'

संर्घष समिति बनाएर आन्दोलनमा उत्रिएका सुनसरी मोरङका उखु किसानले ९ सूत्रीय माग अघि सारेका छन् । उनीहरूले उखुको मूल्य प्रतिक्विन्टल ५ सय ३५ रुपैयाँ निर्धारण गरिनुपर्ने, आगामी वर्षदेखि असोज महिनाभित्रै मूल्य निर्धारण गरिनुपर्ने, उखु नापी भएको १५ दिनभित्र भुक्तानी दिनुपर्ने, उखु कटान अगाडि पेस्की दिनुपर्ने, उखुवालीको बैंक ग्यारेन्टी र बिमाको व्यवस्था गरिनुपर्ने लगायत माग अघि सारेका छन् । 

सुनसरी-मोरङका उखु किसानले चिनी मिलले आफूहरूलाई भुत्तानी सधैं ढिलो गरिदिने गरेको आरोप लगाउँदै आएका छन् । यी दुई जिल्लामा करिब ८ हजार किसानले उखुको व्यावसायिक खेती गर्दै आएका छन् । पछिल्लो समय राम्रो नाफा हुने र नगदे बाली भएकाले धेरै किसान यसतर्फ आकषिर्त भएका थिए ।  मिलले भुक्तानीमा धेरै ढिलाइ गर्न थालेपछि किसानहरू निरास बन्न थालेका छन् ।
