Nagaland requested to impose curfew
Kohima. The security forces in Nagaland have requested the state government to impose curfew along the 3 km belt of the International Boundary with Myanmar in order to check the movement of armed insurgent groups in the border areas.

Inspector-General of Assam Rifles (North) M S Jaswal said that the a red alert had been sounded and heavy-counter insurgency measures undertaken by the security forces in the aftermath of frequent ambushes on security forces and Assam Rifles by NSCN(K) and other insurgent groups.
"We do not want to harm any civilian crossing the border, and therefore have requested the state government to impose curfew within 3 km belt along the International Border," the Major General said.
He expressed happiness that Naga villages in the border areas had been restricting stay of armed insurgents in their villages.
He made it clear that security forces would not allow transportation of huge quantity of food items to the other side of the border, where the insurgents were reportedly taking shelter.
Major General Jaswal said that even after the repeated ambushes on the Assam Rifles in Mon and Kohima during April and May after abrogating the ceasefire, around 300 cadres of the armed faction of NSCN(K) were reportedly moving around in different parts of the state.
